When Jim - a popular but jaded college professor - learns of his father's death, he must bring his loser brother Dave to the reading of their father's will. They then learn that they've each inherited one half of the family's vacation home in Missouri. They then decide to sell the house to solve both of their financial problems. But in order to do so they'll need to travel there together and learn to cope with each other's disparate lifestyles.
